Resin bound needs a restrained edge wherever it meets open ground. Here the surface runs to a course of dark granite-look setts bedded on concrete, which holds the resin line and gives the frontage a defined boundary against the road.

Why does resin bound need an edge course?
Resin bound is a thin bonded layer, not a structural slab. Without a haunched edge the outer 100mm has nothing to push against and eventually fractures under a turning wheel. The sett course carries that load instead.
Does the surface drain without gullies?
Yes. The resin is laid on a permeable base so rain passes through the surface into the sub-base rather than running to the kerb, which is why no channel drain appears across the entrance.

How does resin cope with a sloping frontage?
Resin bound is trowelled to the existing fall, so a slope is not a problem. The mix is worked slightly stiffer on gradients so the aggregate does not creep downhill before it cures.

Not readily. It is porous so water does not sit on it, and an occasional wash keeps the aggregate clean.
